Helping the communities around us
While we pride ourselves on the great socks we make, we are equally proud about contributing to various
charitable groups and to the communities around us. Every year we donate thousands of socks and dollars
to national and local charities and community events. Here are a few of the groups we work with.
Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition (OIWC)
Fox River is a Gold Plus level sponsor
The OIWC is a non-profit association whose purpose is to equip women to reach their professional success in
the outdoor industries via educational programming, networking and mentoring. OIWC acts as a vehicle to
promote the views and interest of women engaged in or impassioned by the outdoor, snow sports, action sports

The Breast Cancer Research Organizations
Fox River will donate 5% of net profits on the sales of its women’s line to breast cancer health organizations.
3 Peaks 3 Weeks Challenge
Fox River has partnered with 3 Peaks 3 Weeks
Donating socks to those summitting three of Africa’s highest peaks in three weeks to raise money and awareness for
Africa’s three peak issue: environment, education and health. Funds raised will provide financial support and
encouragement for community driven grassroots organizations in Africa - in support of initiatives which have long-lasting

The Breast Cancer Fund Peak Hike
Fox River donates socks for hikers
Peak Hike is a fun, positive day where participants hike in honor of loved ones who have faced the disease. The Breast
Cancer Fund advocates for environmental health policies that place the public’s health first. Learn about their efforts to
secure the institutional changes and legislative reforms to help end breast cancer.
Team Survivor Northwest
Fox River donates socks to this golf tournament to help cancer survivors
Team Survivor Northwest provides fitness and health education programs to enable women cancer survivors to take an
active role in their ongoing physical and emotional healing.
Fox River is a Seven Summits sponsor
The HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation was founded by Sean Patrick, an ovarian cancer survivor and climber. HERA’s Climb
for Life raises money for ovarian cancer research and to bring awareness to the disease.
Adaptive Sports Center
Fox River donates socks for their annual auction
The Adaptive Sports Center (ASC) of Crested Butte, Colorado is a non-profit organization that provides year-round
recreation activities for people with disabilities and their families.
Freestyle America Ski Camps
Fox River donates socks for all participants
Freestyle America camps offer USSA freestyle competitors a complete schedule of training programs that focus on
technical skills and acrobatic fundamentals of freestyle skiing and freeride aerials. The focus is technical skill

Chip in for a Cure
Fox River donates socks for all participants
Chip in for a Cure raises money to support breast cancer research. In the last eight years, the FUTURES Golf Tour,
the official developmental tour of the LPGA, has supported fundraising efforts by participating in a tournament at
Blue Fox Run Golf Course in Avon, CT and Pro-Am events.
University of Northern Iowa Athletics
Fox River sponsors UNI basketball
Fox River is sponsoring the University of Northern Iowa Panthers men’s and women’s basketball teams.
North Iowa Vocational Center Services
Fox River is proud to partner with the North Iowa Vocational Center Services (NIVCS). NIVCS employs
physically and mentally challenged people to help them gain life skills. Fox River has provided NIVCS
with sock seaming and turning machines, and sells them imperfect socks which NIVCS staff seams and
then sell in their retail store. Fox River has been named a NIVCS “Partner of the Year” for these efforts.
WEDALI Adventure Racing Team
WEDALI – (We Eat Dust…And Like It)
The WEDALI Team is an up-and-comer in the world of adventure racing. Justin Bakken, Scott Lund,
Ellen Farseth, Molly Moilaner, Jason Nielson and Andrea Nielson (all with ties to the Midwest) make
up the team and recently placed 4th in the U.S. Adventure Racing National Championship. While the
races themselves are great challenges, it’s the camaraderie the team appreciates most.
National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic
Fox River donates socks to support DAV efforts
Each year the DAV and Department of Veterans Affairs sponsors a clinic where more than 300 of
America’s most deserving veterans experience one week of winter sports.
