The following letter came with this list:
Dear Fox River Mills, Inc.,
My name is LCPL Mitch Brady and I'm an active duty infantry marine. I'm currently deployed in Combat Operations in the NAWA District, Helmand Province in Afghanistan. This is my 2nd combat deployment. My 1st was to Iraq. The position I am it nothing more than a dirt berm perimeter and some sand bag posts. We are in a rural area with a high Taliban presence. But this little bit of paradise is what 41 other Marines, Sailors and 21 of our Afghan Army partners call home. We have to keep a strong presence in our area to deter the Taliban freedom of movement, which means we are constantly on patrol. Rough terrain and irrigation canals are a few of the obstacles we encounter on a daily basis.
Ever since I joined the Marine Corps, I’ve bought your boot socks. Fox River is the only brand I wear and trust. Your socks are amazing and have help up under the harshest of conditions - everywhere from below freezing temperatures to the heat of Iraq and now Afghanistan. I’m very please in the quality of the products you produce. I will continue to buy your socks for the rest of my military career and after.
The reason I am writing is to ask if you could possibly send some socks to my position so I can spread them across my platoon. We don’t have any internet or phones here and we won’t see a military exchange until we are leaving the country. So if you could please help out the hard working Marines and Sailors of the 2nd Platoon, India Company it would be greatly appreciated…
We are thankful for your support and your time.
