Mr. Davis writes: "I am currently stationed in N.Marjah, Helmand Province, Afghanistan as part of 2d Battalion 8th Marines under Regimental Combat Team 1. The climate and surrounding area in our Area of Operations is rough and rugged to say the least. Because of the soaring temperatures in the summer months that can easily exceed 100 degrees, I’ve noticed the first thing in our supply system to run out is our socks. As part of the embedded training team, our job keeps us busy advising ANA soldiers on the fundamentals of military operations and leadership. I hope you might be able to fulfill our modest request for sock supplies. Thank you."
