Mr. Stevens include the following note with the list for his unit: "I'm an infantry platoon leader currently deployed to southern Afghanistan. My 32 soldiers and I go on long dismounted patrols that last many hours at a time. Our feet take a beating. I realized how great a product your socks are during my time at Ranger School two years ago. I have been a big fan ever since. I know my guys would really appreciate some of your socks."
