FIBERS

Not all fibers are the same.

We know there's more out there than just Merino, too. Not everyone wants a wool sock. We make socks from a variety of performance fibers including Merino wool, TENCEL®, PrimaLoft®, ThermoLite®, CoolMax®, Copper, UltraSpun® polyester, X-Static® Silver and more.  Plus, by blending fibers we get the benefit of each of those fibers making them smarter socks that stand up longer and last longer. Learn a little about all of the fibers we use below.

Featured Fibers

Merino Wool

A special, fine grade of wool that shares all of the characteristics of classic wool such as thermoregulation, breathability and odor control. It's also luxuriously soft and comfortable. Unlike coarser grades of wool, Merino is much less prone to itching.

A high-performance fiber engineered to move moisture and speed the evaporation of perspiration. It is a superior fiber for wicking action, drying time, moisture absorption and transport. It's also super soft.

CuTEC® Copper

Copper is a natural element that's good for body and skin wellness. It guards the sock against odor-causing bacteria and fungi while making skin look and feel better. Perfect in those smelly work boots or for intense activity.

More about Copper

Cotton

A natural lightweight, moisture-absorbing fiber from the cotton plant. It is soft, breathable, washable and biodegradable offering great comfort.

Filament Nylon

Filament nylon offers a super thin nylon that is exceptionally durable and provides superior softness. This fiber is used often for its extreme durability without the need for reinforcement.

Merino Wool

A special, fine grade of wool that shares all of the characteristics of classic wool such as thermoregulation, breathability and odor control. It's also luxuriously soft and comfortable. Unlike coarser grades of wool, Merino is much less prone to itching.

More about Merino

Micro Acrylic

Acrylic yarn is made up of fibers measuring less than 1 denier in diameter per filament. The small filament size allows the yarn to have an extremely soft hand and still be very durable.

NanoGlide® Nylon

NanoGlide® PTFE is a nearly friction free fiber. Often used in reinforcement, this fiber helps reduce premature wear and reduces heat from friction that leads to moisture buildup and odor.

Nylon

A very strong, versatile and hard-wearing fiber that was introduced by DuPont in 1939. It can be thin and silky or bulky and highly elastic. Nylon is often used with other fibers to give added stretch or improve durability.

Polypropylene

A synthetic water-repelling hydrophobic fiber won't accept moisture. This multifilament yarn is virtually abrasion resistant, durable and stain resistant.

Polyester & Stretch Polyester

Two hydrophobic (water repelling) fibers that are known for their durability and are extremely colorfast for vivid coloration that won't fade.

PrimaLoft®

PrimaLoft® is a unique blend of Merino wool and acrylic yarns that offer superior insulation and moisture management. PrimaLoft dries 20% faster than 100% Merino wool and offers exceptional softness and comfort.

Scentry™ Technology

Scentry™ helps permanently defend your socks from odor. Natural and man-made agents make this technology a sure way to be confident about sock odor. This is accomplished by an embedded fiber like silver or copper or with a micropolymer silane technology which slows wear and reduces odor in the sock.

Silk

A natural smooth, soft fiber that comes from the silk worm. It boasts a high tensile strength and acts as a natural thermal retainer.

Spandex

A man-made fiber with elastic properties that is often used in place of rubber. Used with other fibers, it provides elasticity, shape recover and close fit.

Stretch Nylon

Nylon filaments are crimped and heat-set to provide a yarn that has elastic characteristics. This process results in a nylon product with superior elasticity.

TENCEL®

TENCEL® fibers offer superior moisture management and enhanced comfort for long-lasting performance. This natural, sustainable eucalyptus cellulosic fiber disperses water vapors quickly to wick away moisture and dry fast. It also inhibits bacteria naturally in the sock.
